$250,000 into an unfinished home…

I was recently talking with the owner Wes about this build you see here. He and his wife Ashlee wanted to build an airbnb. When he hired me I could tell he was desperate but I had no idea how bad it really was at that time.

He told me that he hired this guy, paid him a lot of money and come to find out that the work was not getting done. I couldn’t imagine paying someone 6 figures and the work not being completed. Wes was maxing out credit cards and spent all of his savings to make this happen.

They got to a point where they thought it was over and they wouldn’t be able to finish. Then they found me, I could tell they had contractor whiplash though I didn’t ask because it was none of my business.

Every week he would text me after I sent the invoice and ask if he could pay me at the end of the week when he got paid. Thats how tapped out they were on this build. Ive never had to deal with this level of neglect from another contractor before but I worked with them on payments because I wanted to see their vision come to life. I could tell they were good people and I wanted to help where I could.

Well the project got done and their Airbnb is up and running and they are making their money back finally! This is one of many stories I have that are similar to this one.

This is actually a big deal in our industry. Quite a bit of my jobs come from people that hired someone they thought would do good work but didn’t do the job correct or to the clients liking and I get the call to come do the job right.

We are honest

Being honest is a personal pet peeve of mine. I wont build a business based on lies because those fail easily. Im going to speak my truth whether anyone wants to hear it or not.

We do it right the first time

The cheapest people you’ll ever hire are the ones that do the job right the first time. Here in Linden TN they don’t require us to build to code… Im going to build to code though. In fact I over build past code because I don’t want to get called back.

A deck that holds up for decades, not just a few years. This was a $60,000 deck by the way. Trex isn’t cheap but its definitely worth it.

Custom tile work that actually matches the rest of your home. This was apart of a full basement remodel. The black grout really made the white subway tile pop!

Custom details most contractors won’t even attempt. Its between $1,500-$2,500 to put a Celtic knot in a deck. and thats just one corner. I get that question a lot.

I’ve been in construction for over 26 years. I’ve seen what goes wrong and I’ve built this company to make sure it doesn’t. I am extremely passionate about what I do and most of all I love helping people.

After surviving stage 3 cancer and rebuilding my life from rock bottom, I developed a deep respect for building things that don’t break easily.

I overbuild because I understand what it takes to rebuild. That’s me back when I was running and gunning in the Army. That didn’t last long enough unfortunately.

I build things to last.
Not just to pass inspection… but to hold up for years without problems.

Most people won’t notice the difference on day one.
But they will over time.

My goal is simple:
Do it right the first time… so you never have to call me back
unless it’s for your next project. I just assume you are going to park your vehicles on your deck so I build them to support that! Having said that, I will come back 6-9 months later to make sure everything is still in good shape, and if it isn’t then I will correct it. Wood expands, contracts, and dries out so I cant promise perfection but I can guarantee that I will come back to correct it.
